Summary

Chair's Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Work with the Operational Lead and Directors to shape, develop and oversee delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives. Ensure the organisation remains responsive to emerging NHS workforce priorities and changes within primary care and neighbourhood health services. Support the development of innovative workforce solutions that respond to local and system-wide need. Promote continuous improvement and organisational learning. Ensure strategic decisions support the long-term sustainability and resilience of the organisation. Financial Sustainability and Organisational Resilience: Provide Board leadership on financial sustainability and long-term organisational viability. Support the development of income diversification strategies and business development opportunities. Ensure effective oversight of financial performance, reserves, risk management and organisational performance. Promote assurance arrangements that support effective stewardship of public resources. Ensure strategic risks are identified, monitored and mitigated appropriately. Support organisational resilience planning and business continuity arrangements. Executive Leadership, Succession and Transition: Establish and maintain an effective and constructive working relationship with the Operational Lead. Provide support, guidance and appropriate challenge to the executive leadership function. Lead the appraisal of the Operational Lead on behalf of the Board. Support succession planning and leadership development arrangements. Provide governance oversight during periods of executive transition and organisational change. Partnership Working and External Representation: Act as an ambassador for the South West London Training Hub CIC. Develop and maintain productive relationships with NHS England, South West London Integrated Care Board, Primary Care Networks, locality Training Hubs, education providers and other strategic partners. Promote collaboration and partnership working across organisational boundaries. Represent the organisation at relevant strategic meetings and forums. Champion the importance of workforce development and the contribution of Training Hubs to the wider health and care system. Board Leadership and Governance: Lead the Board in setting and overseeing the strategic direction of South West London Training Hub CIC. Ensure the Board operates effectively and in accordance with the Company's Articles of Association, statutory requirements and governance framework. Ensure the Board focuses on strategy, governance, assurance, scrutiny and organisational sustainability, while enabling the operational leadership team to focus on implementation, management and delivery of the Training Hub's offer. Support the organisation with next years re-procurement of Training Hubs by Heath Education England/NHS England. Promote the highest standards of integrity, accountability, transparency and ethical conduct. Foster an inclusive and effective Board culture that encourages constructive challenge, respectful debate and collective decision-making. Ensure Directors understand and fulfil their statutory and fiduciary responsibilities. Ensure actual, potential and perceived conflicts of interest are appropriately identified, declared and managed. Lead regular reviews of Board effectiveness and governance arrangements. Support the recruitment, induction, appraisal and development of Board members.
