Summary

Care and support to our adult population is at the core of our values and purpose, and our new admininstration has just agreed its three year Corporate Plan https://new.calderdale.gov.uk/council/data/priorities-and-performance/corporate-plan , which articulates the Council’s determination to deliver positive outcomes for all our residents.

Our current Director of Adult Services and Wellbeing is retiring having led the Directorate through a ‘Good’ CQC inspection. We are now looking for a visionary, bold and outcome focused new Director, keen to build on our work to date, particuarly our deep partnership arrangements with the NHS and the voluntary sector, and create a future shaped by those who use our services, our staff and our partners.

You will:

• Work alongside the Chief Executive, our health and care leaders, and communities, to shape our new Provider Collaborative, and develop our innovative work on Neighbourhood Health

• Consolidate our asset based practice in adult social care, rooted in community power and the lived experience of those who use our services, in a way that puts people at the heart of the care and support journey

• Collaborate with our social care providers market to support sustainability, and ensure effective commissioning

• Work with our Safeguarding Adults Board to address significant harm and implement our new partnership delivery model

• Operate as a corporate and system leader in health, housing and the voluntary and community sector to deliver on our commitment to effectively manage resources, reduce inequalities and develop innovative practice

What we need from you is drive, passion, a strong sense of the importance of place and an ability to remain focused on outcomes for individuals and families in Calderdale.

The successful candidate will hold the statutory function of Director of Adult Social Services.
