Summary
Our Service Manager provides operational leadership of Tagsa Uibhist, for the effective and safe delivery of all our services. The Service Manager works with the Board of Directors and the Management Team to deliver strategic goals, while strengthening people, resources, partnerships, funding, governance and compliance.
Job description - Key Responsibilities
Strategic leadership and organisational development

Work with the Board to clarify strategic priorities and support delivery of the organisation’s direction.

Turn strategic priorities into realistic plans, actions and measures of progress, using continuous improvement.
·
Support the organisation to develop sustainably with a clear focus on community impact.
People leadership and culture
·
Lead, support and develop staff through clear expectations, regular communication, effective people management systems and constructive performance management.
·
Identify development needs and encourage learning, capability and professional growth.
·
Ensure staffing and organisational capacity are aligned with priorities and available resources.
Operations and service quality
·
Oversee day-to-day organisational operations, ensuring activity is well planned, coordinated and delivered effectively.

Maintain a clear focus on high-quality services and positive outcomes for local people.
·
Ensure appropriate systems, processes and controls are in place and used consistently.
Financial management and resource stewardship
·
Establish, implement and monitor budgets and financial performance.
·
Monitor expenditure, income and emerging financial risks and act appropriately.
·
Ensure organisational resources are used responsibly, within delegated authorities and aligned with agreed priorities.
Funding, partnerships and external relationships
·
Develop and maintain constructive relationships with funders, partners and other external stakeholders.
·
Oversee and support fundraising activity and identify opportunities that strengthen organisational sustainability.
·
Build partnerships that support better outcomes and strengthen the organisation’s reach and influence.
Governance, compliance and Board support
·
Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing clear, timely and relevant information for effective oversight and decision-making.
·
Support good governance through appropriate reporting, record keeping, risk awareness and follow-through on agreed actions.
·
Maintain awareness of relevant compliance requirements and ensure organisational practice reflects them.
Communication and community focus
·
Communicate clearly and consistently with staff, Board members, partners and other stakeholders.
·
Listen to local perspectives and ensure community needs inform organisational priorities.
·
Promote equality, inclusion and respect in the organisation’s relationships and services.
