Summary

The Rainbow Project is seeking a compassionate, practical and reliable Peer Support and Group Process Worker to support LGBTQI+ adults at our community venue in Wath-upon-Dearne.

This varied role combines person-centred peer support, group facilitation and the practical duties needed to keep our activities safe, welcoming and well organised. You will help deliver our Tuesday and Friday groups, support a monthly crochet and knitting group, and develop and run a sober games night twice each month.

You will support people who may be experiencing social isolation, mental health difficulties, neurodivergence, substance-use recovery, involvement with the criminal justice system or the asylum process. You must be able to work sensitively and without judgement while maintaining clear professional boundaries and following safeguarding procedures.

The role also includes preparing and tidying rooms, collecting supplies, serving refreshments, washing up, light cleaning, restocking, completing records and occasionally transporting service users to or from activities where this has been authorised and risk assessed.

This is a fixed-term position until 31 July 2028, with the intention of seeking further funding to continue the role. The post is for 21 hours per week and includes fixed Tuesday, Friday and monthly Monday shifts. An enhanced DBS check, full driving licence and regular access to a suitable vehicle are required. Authorised business mileage is paid at 55p per mile.
