Child Protection Inquiry Team (Agency Contract)
We are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Social Worker to join our Child Protection Inquiry Team on an initial 3-month agency contract, with the potential for extension. We are seeking an experienced practitioner who can start as soon as possible, has strong safeguarding knowledge, and is able to hit the ground running following a brief induction.
Our Child Protection Inquiry Team is a fast-paced, short-term service responsible for completing Section 47 enquiries and, where appropriate, 15-day Section 17 assessments. The team does not hold long-term cases. Once enquiries and assessments have been completed, cases are transferred to the relevant longer-term teams for ongoing intervention. Social workers also participate in a duty rota every four weeks, during which new safeguarding referrals are allocated.
Although the work is fast-paced, caseloads are intentionally kept very low, with most social workers holding between three and four children at any one time. This enables practitioners to focus on completing timely, high-quality assessments and safeguarding enquiries.
