Summary
Location: Gunwharf QuaysReports To: Cleaning ManagerHours: Night Shift 4 on 4 off shift pattern (e.g., 1600 PM - 0200 AM)Salary: £13.84
Job Purpose:
To ensure that designated areas of the premises are kept clean, hygienic, and presentable to the highest standards during night hours. This role supports operational cleanliness for the start of the next working day and maintains hygiene standards in line with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Carry out general cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, polishing, and sanitising surfaces.
-Clean and restock washrooms, toilets, kitchens, and common areas.
-Empty bins and ensure waste is disposed of correctly in accordance with site procedures.
-Operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, ride on scrubber dryers (training will be provided if necessary).
-Replenish cleaning materials and notify supervisors when stock is low.
-Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE and COSHH regulations.
-Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages noticed during cleaning duties.
-Secure premises after completion of cleaning tasks, ensuring all doors and windows are properly closed or locked.
-Work as part of a night cleaning team to cover all designated areas in a timely and thorough manner.
-Removal of waste streams throughout the Centre
Person Specification:
Essential:
-Previous cleaning experience (commercial, office, or industrial preferred).
-Ability to work night shifts and maintain punctual attendance.
-Awareness of health and safety and hygiene standards.
-Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
-Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
-Experience using cleaning machinery/equipment.
-Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
