Starting salary: £27,927 per annum or pro rata £22,644 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week or 30 hours per week

Contract: 1) Full time – Permanent or 2) Part-time Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

The Matthew Project is a value-driven charity working across Norfolk, supporting individuals and communities affected by drugs, alcohol, and mental health challenges. Unity is a partnership between The Matthew Project and Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

We are recruiting for our Unity and YouCan teams in Norwich. This opportunity is open to both experienced practitioners and those who have transferable skills looking to develop a career in substance misuse.

1)Unity team – This is a full-time permanent role (37 hours/week) supporting CYP (under 19) who are using substances or vulnerable to substance misuse, within the community and taking place in a variety of settings. The role includes engagement, screening, assessment, and delivering a range of interventions to support positive change.

2)YouCan team - This is a part-time temporary role (30 hours/week - over 4 days), 12-month fixed term contract, supporting CYP (under 19) who are affected by the substance use of others. The role includes outreach within the community and taking place in a variety of settings, the identification, engagement, screening, and assessment of CYP impacted by the substance misuse of others. You will be delivering a range of interventions and positive activities including transporting young people to and from activities as required.

We are looking for people who are passionate about working with CYP, have experience working with or supporting this age group and understand (or have an interest in) substance misuse issues. You will be motivated, empathetic, and committed. Training and development will be provided.

Both roles are based in Norwich and the ability to travel is essential.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those with lived experience (not currently in treatment). These roles will require the completion of an enhanced DBS process before starting.
