Summary
Position: Care Governance Board Director (Non-Executive role)
Location: 30 Dunkenny Rd, Glasgow G15 8LH
Renumeration: Voluntary
The role is strategic and non-operational. The Board Director will support the wider Board to understand whether appropriate systems are in place to deliver safe, effective, person-centred care and support, while holding senior management to account for quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional care expertise and advice to the Board.
Review key quality and governance information presented to the Board.
Provide appropriate scrutiny and constructive challenges around the quality and safety of services.
Monitor themes and trends relating to incidents, accidents, complaints, compliments, safeguarding and other quality indicators.
Seek assurance that Care Inspectorate requirements, improvement actions and regulatory responsibilities are being appropriately managed.
Review evidence relating to service user outcomes, experience and involvement.
Seek assurance around workforce matters including training, competency, supervision and staff development.
Monitor progress against agreed quality improvement plans and governance actions.
Support a positive culture of learning, openness and continuous improvement.
Escalate significant areas of concern to the Board where appropriate.
Contribute to Board discussions and decisions from a care quality and governance perspective.
