If you’re a packaging specialist who thrives in fast‑moving, food environments — and you’re ready to step into a role with real influence — this is one worth exploring.
This is a new role, created to bring dedicated expertise into a growing food business supplying major UK retailers. Packaging has historically sat across Technical and NPD, but the pace, scale and ambition of the business now demand a specialist who can take ownership, set direction, and elevate packaging performance end‑to‑end.
You’ll join an energetic team that’s expanding to support significant growth — turnover has increased c.15% in the last year — and you’ll be the go‑to expert for all things packaging across UK and international supply routes.
What you’ll lead
Full packaging ownership across all formats — ensuring availability, quality, compliance and cost efficiency.
Stock management & continuity of supply, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly across multiple countries.
Cost optimisation initiatives — driving commercial value without compromising product integrity.
Packaging development & upgrades that improve shelf life, reduce waste and enhance presentation.
Artwork management, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery from concept to print.
Innovation & sustainability, bringing forward new materials, technologies and formats that support retailer expectations and environmental targets.
Market & competitor insight, keeping the business ahead of trends and legislation.
What you’ll bring
Strong packaging development experience within the Food/FMCG sector
Technical understanding of materials, formats, shelf‑life performance and packaging behaviour through the supply chain.
Confidence managing suppliers, stock, artwork processes and packaging trials.
A proactive, commercially aware mindset — someone who spots opportunities and drives improvement.
Excellent cross‑functional communication and the ability to collaborate across Technical, Innovation, Commercial and Operations.
Why this role stands out
It’s brand new — you’ll shape it, define it, and build the packaging agenda.
You’ll work within a growing, international supply chain with real complexity and variety.
You’ll have visibility across the whole business and the chance to make a measurable impact.
You’ll join a supportive, ambitious team with strong investment behind it.
If you’re ready to take ownership of packaging in a business that’s scaling fast — and you want the autonomy to make things better, smarter and more sustainable — this role could be for you.
