Summary
The Deputy Practice Manager will support the Practice Manager and GP Partners in the effective day-to-day management of The Shrubberies Medical Centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe and patient-centred services. The post holder will provide leadership and operational support to the reception and administrative teams, helping to ensure the smooth running of practice services and maintaining high standards of patient care and customer service. Key responsibilities include supporting staff recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management; managing patient complaints and feedback; monitoring appointment capacity and access; supporting compliance with CQC standards, NHS contractual requirements, information governance and health and safety regulations; and assisting with practice policies, procedures and quality improvement initiatives. The Deputy Practice Manager will play an active role in workforce planning, rota management, staff training compliance, service development and business continuity planning. They will also support the monitoring of practice performance, including Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), Enhanced Services and other contractual targets. The role requires close working relationships with clinicians, administrative staff, Primary Care Network (PCN) colleagues, NHS organisations and other healthcare partners to ensure efficient service delivery and continuous improvement across the practice. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems effectively and support a positive and collaborative team culture. In the absence of the Practice Manager, the Deputy Practice Manager will deputise as required and undertake other appropriate duties consistent with the responsibilities of the role.
