Summary

Luma Education Recruitment are working with a specialist SEMH school in Warwick who are looking for a passionate and supportive Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology Graduate interested in SEN, SEMH, mental health, child development, education or behaviour support, with the potential for a long-term placement and permanent position for the right candidate.

No previous school-based experience? No problem. The school is looking for someone with the right attitude who is patient, resilient, empathetic and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.

Psychology Graduate LSA – The Role

You will support pupils throughout the school day, helping them access learning while developing their confidence, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

You may support pupils with:

SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs

ASD (Autism)

ADHD

Behavioural needs

Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties

Moderate learning difficulties

Additional educational and learning needs

What will you be doing?

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

Providing learning support across different subjects

Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour

Building positive relationships with young people

Helping pupils remain engaged in lessons

Supporting teachers to create a calm and inclusive learning environment

Encouraging confidence, independence and social development

Supporting pupils throughout the school day with lessons and activities

Psychology Graduate LSA – Requirements

Psychology degree or relevant graduate qualification

Genuine interest in SEN, SEMH, child development and mental health

Resilient and confident supporting behavioural needs

Good communication and relationship-building skills

Flexible and adaptable approach

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required prior to starting
