*** EYFS support – SEND / Complex Needs

The Role:

As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support EYFS pupils with SEND and complex needs. You will help children engage with play-based learning, follow routines and develop early communication, social and independence skills. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to provide consistent, caring support throughout the school day.

The Candidate:

This role will suit a patient, resilient and compassionate graduate who wants to make a genuine difference in early years education. You should be calm, reliable and confident supporting young children who may need extra reassurance, structure and individualised support. This is a strong opportunity for someone considering SEN, primary teaching, educational psychology or clinical psychology.

Requirements

- 2:2 degree or above in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies or a related subject.

• A genuine interest in supporting EYFS pupils with SEND and complex needs.

• Strong communication skills and a calm, nurturing approach.

• The ability to follow guidance and provide consistent support around individual needs.

• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

The School:

This Handsworth primary school is looking for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils within EYFS. Staff provide a caring, structured environment where children with additional needs can feel safe, settled and able to make progress.
