We’re looking for a friendly, caring and reliable Housekeeper to join our dedicated domestic team at Karenza Care Home, a welcoming 22-bed residential care home where our residents are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Housekeeper, you’ll play an important role in creating a clean, safe, comfortable and homely environment for our residents. You’ll take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home, while working with care, kindness and respect.

Job Purpose

The role of the Housekeeper is essential to helping our residents live full, happy, and healthy lives. You’ll take pride in delivering a spotless and hygienic home environment that contributes to their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks, and countertops
Making beds and changing linens
Using cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, and cloths effectively
Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels
Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, and communal areas
Tidying and refreshing residents’ rooms
Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required
Reporting repairs or maintenance issues promptly
Assisting in laundry duties and ensuring cleanliness throughout the home
Interacting positively with resident, joining conversations, offering a smile, and contributing to their sense of home

Requirements

Naturally kind, caring, and compassionate
Highly motivated with great attention to detail
Able to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
Comfortable communicating with residents and colleagues
Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred, but not essential
Willingness to work in both cleaning and laundry areas of the home
Passionate about making residents feel comfortable, safe, and cared for

Pay Scale - No qualifications

£12.80 per hour
£16.00 per hour (Weekend Rate)
£25.60 per hour (Bank Holidays)
