We are currently recruiting
Class 1 HGV Drivers for a leading organisation within the
Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector based in
Chessington. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for reliable and professional
Class 1 HGV Drivers looking for long-term, stable employment.
The Role
Working as a
Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for completing scheduled deliveries between distribution hubs and customer locations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
Key Duties
- Deliver products accurately and efficiently in line with company procedures.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks including lights, tyres, brakes, and fluid levels.
- Comply with all road traffic laws and tachograph regulations.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, delays, or breakdowns promptly.
- Complete all delivery paperwork accurately.
- Load and unload vehicles using tail lifts, with some manual handling required.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and security at all times.
- Liaise effectively with transport and operations teams.
Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday
- Every other Saturday required
- 05:00 start time
- Approximate finish time of 16:00
- Occasional night cover may be required to support annual leave
Requirements
- Full UK Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good understanding of driver hours and working time regulations
- Safety-conscious and reliable approach to work
- Previous driving experience preferred
