Summary
1. Worship Ministry
• Participate in worship services as a vocalist, musician, worship leader or in another agreed worship capacity.
• Prepare personally and spiritually for worship services, rehearsals and other ministry activities.
• Attend and actively participate in worship rehearsals and preparation sessions.
• Support the delivery of worship at Sunday services, special services, conferences, prayer meetings and other church programmes.
• Work with the worship team and ministry leaders to prepare worship sets and contribute ideas for songs, music and other appropriate worship elements.
• Contribute to creating an atmosphere in which members and community participants can engage meaningfully in worship.
• Support worship activities at outreach and community events where appropriate.
• Maintain a high standard of personal conduct and ministry practice consistent with the church's Christian values and theological position.
2. Outreach & Community Engagement
• Participate actively in church outreach and evangelistic activities.
• Support outreach events, community programmes and initiatives designed to connect the church with the wider community.
• Use music, worship and personal engagement as appropriate to support outreach activities.
• Welcome and engage with people participating in church outreach and community activities.
• Build positive relationships with community participants and represent the church in a warm, respectful and appropriate manner.
• Support activities involving schools, community organisations, local groups and other partners where required.
• Assist with the practical preparation and delivery of concerts, worship events, community activities, workshops and other outreach programmes.
• Encourage members to participate in outreach activities through positive example and active involvement.
• Provide feedback to the relevant ministry leader on outreach activities, including observations, participation and areas for improvement.
3. Ministry Support
• Work collaboratively with pastors, ministry leaders, volunteers and other church teams.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of Bible studies, discipleship activities, prayer meetings, workshops and other church programmes where required and within the scope of the role.
• Support activities for children, young people and adults as directed by the appropriate ministry leader.
• Share biblical teaching, reflections or devotional content when requested and appropriate to the postholder's role and experience.
• Provide appropriate encouragement and pastoral support to church members and participants, referring more complex pastoral, safeguarding or personal matters to the appropriate pastor or designated leader.
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality when dealing with information relating to members, volunteers and community participants.
• Participate in staff and ministry team meetings as required.
4. Events & Programmes
• Assist with planning and preparing worship and outreach events.
• Support the practical delivery of concerts, worship evenings, community events, seminars, workshops and other programmes.
• Assist with room preparation, music, worship materials, presentation materials and other resources required for events.
• Work with relevant teams to ensure that activities are prepared and delivered effectively.
• Assist with welcoming participants and creating a positive experience for visitors and members.
5. Media, Music & Equipment Support
• Assist with the preparation of worship-related media, including presentation slides, videos, interviews, props and other visual materials where required.
• Work with the relevant media, sound and production teams to support worship and outreach programmes.
• Take reasonable care of musical instruments, worship materials, sound equipment, video equipment and other resources used in ministry activities.
• Assist with maintaining an accurate and orderly inventory of allocated ministry materials and equipment.
• Report damaged, missing or faulty equipment to the appropriate person.
• Support the appropriate storage, preparation and use of ministry resources.
