About the role...

This is a broad, technically interesting role sitting right at the intersection of Finance and Technology - giving you exposure across systems, integrations, data, automation and AI at a business that is genuinely growing and investing in its tools. If you enjoy solving problems, getting into the detail of how systems work and making things better for the people who rely on them every day, this is a role with real scope to make a visible difference.

What you'll be doing...

  • Supporting and progressively owning finance systems including Workday Finance and Workday Adaptive Planning, keeping them reliable, well maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for Finance users - investigating issues, identifying root causes and delivering lasting solutions.
  • Monitoring and improving integrations between finance systems and other business-critical applications, using SQL and data tools to troubleshoot and reconcile data flows.
  • Working with Finance colleagues to translate their requirements into practical system or process improvements.
  • Contributing to system implementations, upgrades and improvement projects, taking ownership of defined workstreams and supporting testing and adoption.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and reduce friction across the Finance function.
  • Exploring how AI and emerging technologies could improve Finance processes and helping turn the strongest ideas into real outcomes.
  • Building effective relationships with external system providers and internal technical teams to resolve issues and deliver agreed changes.

What we're looking for...

  • Several years of experience supporting, administering or improving business systems, enterprise applications or data-led processes.
  • Solid, hands-on SQL skills - comfortable querying datasets, investigating issues and supporting reconciliations independently.
  • Practical understanding of integrations, APIs or system-to-system data flows from real work or project experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills - methodical, thorough and focused on lasting fixes.
  • Experience contributing to systems projects or implementations, with evidence of owning defined workstreams.
  • Confidence communicating technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders and running structured requirements discussions.

Our commitment to inclusion

At The Gym Group we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and identities - and we actively encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply. If you do not meet every requirement listed, we still want to hear from you. We hire for potential and attitude as much as experience, and we will support you to grow.
