Lunchtime Supervisor / Teaching Assistant Part Time Permanent Post,11.25 hours per weekMonday – Friday 11:45am – 2pm, 38 weeks (Term time only)Start date - ASAPSurrey Pay Scale 1/2: £4,206.70 (£24,092 FTE) for Lunchtime Supervisor rolePay Scale 3: £2,194.24 (£25,133 FTE) for Teaching Assistant roleActual annual salary: £6,400 per annumJOB DESCRIPTIONThis role will be based initially in our Nursery, 11:45am – 1:15pm as a Lunchtime Supervisor and 1:15 – 2pm as a Teaching Assistant.We are looking for someone who is conscientious, values play, is able to positively engage with children and enjoys working as part of a dedicated, vibrant and creative staff team.Main Duties:• To assist in setting up and clearing away tables and seating within the lunchtime area.• Supporting pupils while they eat their lunch and making sure tables are clean and that water is available. • Clear food and cutlery during the lunch service. • Ensure standards for healthy eating and table manners are maintained.• Report accidents and complete accident form if necessary.• Ensure that behaviour policies are implemented.• To supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special educational needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities• To establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs• To promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils• To encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher• To create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans• To use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals• To prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their usePERSON SPECIFICATION• Be approachable, courteous and able to present a positive image of the school.• Ability to relate well to children and adults.• Ability to work constructively as part of a team.• Ability to maintain a safe, calm and happy approach.• Be able to demonstrate diplomacy, flexibility and maintain confidentiality. • Ability to prioritise conflicting demands, remain calm and cope with the pressure of a busy school. • Ability to demonstrate use of initiative and to contribute to solving problems to improve the services offered to the children. • Physically able to lift tables and benches comfortably.• Commitment to support the Catholic ethos of the school.
