Summary

School Caretaker (Part-Time)Hastings, East Sussex | Temporary OpportunityHays Education are currently working with an infant school in the Hastings area that is looking to appoint a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to support the day-to-day operation of the school site.This is a part-time role that would suit someone with previous care-taking, site maintenance, facilities, estates, or premises experience who enjoys working independently and takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.Working Hours:

Monday to Friday

7am - 8am

4pm - 5pm

10 hours a week.

The Role:As School Caretaker, you will be responsible for opening and securing the school premises each day, ensuring the site remains safe, secure, and well-maintained for staff, students, and visitors.Key responsibilities include:

Opening and locking the school buildings

Carrying out routine health and safety checks

Undertaking basic maintenance and minor repairs

Monitoring the security of the school site

Reporting any maintenance issues to the relevant teams

Assisting with the setup of rooms and school events where required

Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of outdoor areas

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

Have previous care taking, premises, facilities, or maintenance experience

Be reliable, trustworthy, and punctual

Have good practical and problem-solving skills

Be able to work independently and use their own initiative

Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
