Summary

The Essex Wellbeing Service (EWS) Tobacco Control Team is a passionate and dedicated team committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Essex residents. Through the delivery of evidence-based smoking cessation support, the team plays a vital role in reducing health inequalities, preventing smoking-related illness, and helping individuals make positive, lasting changes to their lives.

Working as part of a supportive and forward-thinking service, the Tobacco Control Team provides personalised support to a diverse range of clients, helping them to overcome nicotine dependence and achieve a smoke-free future. The team works closely with healthcare professionals, community organisations, and local partners to ensure smoking cessation services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of local communities.

To manage caseloads efficiently and in line with service priorities.

To engage with individuals by telephone, using a holistic triage approach to assess readiness for change and identify the support needed to improve their lifestyle and wellbeing.

To support the SPA in onboarding and training new smoking specialist services

To deliver training to SPA Care Navigators on the new smoking specialist service introduced into the SPA.

The role involves supporting all individuals, with a strong focus on including vulnerable adults, MH, seldom heard communities. LTCs   through the Single Point of Access and within clinic settings on an unsupervised basis. This may include instructing, assessing, providing advice and/or guidance on well-being, and requires full adherence to safeguarding and regulatory requirements.

·      Ensure all interactions comply with relevant policies, procedures, and professional standards.

When required, assist in delivering and promoting community health events and awareness campaigns across Essex to raise awareness about smoking cessation services

·      Accurately record and manage client information using systems such as SystmOne and Priority Digital Health.
