Summary
The Best Connection (Newcastle) is currently seeking a professional and reliable
Class 1 Tramper Driver to join a long-established, family-run haulage firm based near Morpeth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driver who enjoys life on the road and wants to work with a well-maintained, modern fleet (predominantly Mercedes-Benz) for a leader in specialised distribution.
The Role:
Tramping: Operating across the UK as a
Class 1 Tramper, typically Monday to Friday.
Equipment: Driving Class 1 vehicles with Chipliner trailers, primarily transporting high-volume wood products.
Operations: Ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of vehicle care in a
Class 1 Tramper role.
Pay & Hours:
- £17.00 per hour (Basic rate).
- £26.00 Night-out Allowance.
- Paid Breaks included.
- Weekend Overtime available to boost your take-home pay.
Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
- Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- New pass drivers considered, although previous Class 1 experience is preferred.
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable with overnight stays in a
Class 1 Tramper position.
