Summary

Groves Health is a successful and trusted provider of NHS services across England. Over the past five years, we have grown from a single practice in New Malden to a team of more than 100 people, providing high-quality care to patients and communities across our four sites in New Malden, Richmond, Wimbledon and Hinchley Wood. As Groves Health continues to grow and expand the services we provide, we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Receptionist & Administrator to join our team at Groves Vineyard Surgery in Wimbledon. About the role We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is well organised and can manage a varied workload in a busy environment. Previous experience in a GP practice, healthcare or administrative setting would be beneficial, but we are also keen to hear from candidates with transferable skills and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service. Our Reception teams play a vital role in the day-to-day running of our practices. As one of the first points of contact for patients, you will help ensure that patients receive a friendly, professional and efficient service. This is a varied role, providing the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience across different areas of reception and administration within a busy GP surgery. Key responsibilities Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Booking and managing telephone appointments for patients. Managing the practice email inbox and responding to patient requests. Responding to patient queries through the practice website and online services. Welcoming patients to the practice and dealing with their queries in a professional and helpful manner. Contacting patients on behalf of GPs and other members of the clinical team to arrange appointments or relay information. Receiving, sorting, scanning and distributing incoming post and correspondence. Registering new patients and ensuring their information is accurately recorded. Liaising with external organisations, including pharmacies, care homes and other healthcare services, where appropriate to support patient care. Using practice and administrative systems, including EMIS, Docman and Microsoft Office. Full training will be provided where required. Supporting colleagues with general administrative duties and contributing to the smooth running of the practice. Assisting with the opening and closing of the practice when required. About you We are looking for someone who: Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is friendly, approachable and professional. Has a strong commitment to providing excellent patient service. Is organised and able to prioritise competing demands. Can remain calm and professional when working in a busy environment. Has good attention to detail and is confident using computer systems. Is able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Is adaptable and willing to learn new systems and processes. Understands the importance of confidentiality and handling patient information appropriately. Previous experience within a GP practice, NHS or healthcare environment would be advantageous, but is not essential. Why join Groves Health? This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation where you will be part of a supportive team and have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience within primary care. If you are enthusiastic, organised and passionate about providing a high-quality service to patients, we would love to hear from you.
