Barking and Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant within Orthopaedics, to join our friendly and highly skilled team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and support staff on a full-time basis.

The post will include working primarily with trauma orthopaedic inpatients, as well as providing support to some fracture clinic services. The trauma service is a busy service with lots of ongoing service development opportunities. This post will be primarily based at the Queens Hospital site, however there is opportunity to work cross site at King George’s if required.

You will be able to assess and discharge patients independently, as well as provide advice and support to patients and family members. They will have excellent communication and reasoning skills. The post involves close working with the MDT to provide evidence-based patient-centred care. In return you will receive regular supervision and support, as well as training and career development opportunities.

The post will include weekend working.

To provide skilled routine, and some non-routine, clinical and non-clinical support to the Orthopaedic Therapy team

The state registered therapist will at all times remain responsible for:

• Setting the protocols and guidelines and monitoring the progression of the patient

Overseeing the clinical quality and ensuring appropriateness of the treatment practiced on the patient

We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
