Summary
Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced
MIG Welder to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the
Telford area.
THE JOB
· MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components and assemblies.
· Fabricating bespoke and batch-produced steel products to customer specifications.
· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding specifications.
· Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing steel components for fabrication.
· Assembling and positioning components prior to welding.
· Carrying out MIG welding to produce clean, strong and accurate welds.
· Working with different thicknesses and sizes of mild steel.
· Using hand and power tools including grinders, drills, saws and other fabrication equipment.
· Checking dimensions and ensuring fabricated components are produced accurately.
· Inspecting completed welds and fabrications to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
· Grinding, fettling and finishing welds where required.
· Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised work area.
ABOUT YOU
· Previous experience as a MIG Welder or similar fabrication role.
· Strong MIG welding and ideally have fabrication experience, particularly working with mild steel.
· Able to read and work from engineering drawings.
· Confident measuring, marking out and assembling components prior to welding.
· Experience using fabrication tools and machinery, including grinders, drills and saws.
· Able to produce good-quality welds with a neat finish.
· Good understanding of fabrication processes and working with different steel thicknesses.
· Good attention to detail and able to work accurately to customer specifications.
· Previous experience working on bespoke, one-off or low-volume fabrication would be advantageous.
· Reliable, practical and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday to Thursday – 18:00pm – 06:00am (Nights)
Monday to Thursday – 06:00am – 18:00pm (Days)
Alternatively,
Monday to Thursday - 07:00am-16:00pm
Friday 13:00pm
PAY RATE
£13.50 - £17.00ph depending on experience
