Bridgwater that provides a nurturing, inclusive and supportive environment for children and young people with ASC and a range of associated needs.
The school is seeking a dedicated
Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis from September. You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help students feel safe, understood and confident in their learning environment.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students with a range of needs, including
ASC, ADHD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), anxiety, school refusal and communication difficulties. You will play an important role in encouraging positive engagement, supporting emotional regulation and helping students develop their confidence, independence and overall wellbeing.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

Experience supporting children or young people with ASC, SEND or additional learning needs
•
Experience supporting ADHD, PDA, school refusal or communication difficulties would be advantageous
•
A caring, patient and resilient approach
•
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•
The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students
•
Confidence remaining calm and supportive in challenging situations
•
A proactive, flexible and adaptable approach to working as part of a team
