Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
The person appointed to the post will:
1. hold an appropriate degree level qualification in Mathematics and a recognised secondary age range teaching qualification;
2. be ICT literate;
3. have an understanding of the learning needs of less able students and be able to respond to them;
4. appreciate the needs of more able students and teach in a manner which acknowledges the need for differentiation and extension;
5. be a competent and enthusiastic communicator of the subject to adults and students;
6. be aware of and responsive to current teaching developments within the subject area;
7. expect and be able to achieve appropriate standards of behaviour and discipline both within and outside the classroom;
8. work collaboratively with the Department and with other staff;
9. be willing to accept and evaluate advice from subject and pastoral managers;
10. wish to contribute, possibly outside the subject specialism, in some way towards an activity which enriches the educational, social or cultural experiences of the students;
11. seek to establish/promote a successful professional career within the school;
12. be in sympathy with the ethos of the School and seek to uphold, develop and enhance the achievements and standards towards which the School works;
13. have the ability to support pupils/respond to parents through fluent and accurately spoken English.
