Trade Counter Operative – AscotLocation: AscotPosition: Trade Counter OperativeType: PermanentShifts: Monday-Friday 07:00-16:30 and every other Saturday 08:00-12:00Salary: £31,500 - £32,000We are currently recruiting for a Trade Counter Operative to join a busy and successful branch in Ascot. This is a customer-focused role where you will play an important part in supporting customers, processing orders and helping to drive sales across a range of products.Previous sales or customer service experience, particularly within a trade, timber, builders' merchant or similar environment, would be advantageous.The RoleAs a Trade Counter Operative, your responsibilities will include:Serving customers in a friendly, professional and efficient mannerHandling customer orders and enquiries on a daily basisProviding product information and assisting customers with their requirementsProcessing sales and maintaining accurate recordsBuilding and maintaining strong customer relationshipsManaging your own customer accounts and internal ledgerDeveloping relationships with key suppliersWorking closely with colleagues to ensure customers receive an excellent serviceMaintaining high standards of health and safety within the branchSupporting the wider branch team with day-to-day operationsAbout YouThe successful candidate will be:Customer-focused with excellent communication skillsConfident dealing with customers face-to-face and over the telephoneSelf-motivated and enthusiasticReliable, flexible and hardworkingOrganised with good attention to detailComfortable working as part of a teamAmbitious and keen to develop their careerExperienced in sales, customer service or a similar trade environmentPrevious experience managing customer accounts or a sales ledger would be an advantage, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.BenefitsCompany performance-related bonus schemeContributory pension schemeLife assuranceEmployee discount schemeTraining and development opportunitiesOpportunities for career progressionIf you are an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual looking for your next opportunity in sales, we would love to hear from you.
