This temporary daytime role would suit a reliable and safety-focused driver who takes pride in delivering goods professionally and on time.About the companyThis established transport business, based in the Chesterfield area, provides haulage and logistics services using a varied fleet, including articulated, rigid and specialist vehicles. Its services include abnormal-load transport, crane-assisted haulage, European haulage and storage, with a focus on safe, efficient and reliable delivery.Key responsibilities• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly• Complete deliveries and collections in line with schedules• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects• Secure loads correctly and ensure all relevant paperwork is completed• Follow legal requirements, company procedures and site safety rules• Communicate professionally with transport teams and delivery points• Maintain high standards of vehicle care and cleanlinessSkills and qualifications• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with the relevant entitlement• Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)• Digital tachograph card• Previous Class 1 driving experience• Good knowledge of road safety and drivers’ hours regulations• Reliable, punctual and professional approach• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules• Good communication and customer service skillsBenefits• £17 per hour• Day shifts• Paid every Wednesday• Opportunity to be visible to local employersIf you are an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for temporary daytime work in the Old Whittington area, apply today.
