Summary

Southglade Primary and Nursery School are looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual to join our school as a caretaker. Hours – 16.25 per week. Monday – Friday 2.45 – 6.00, all year-round contract (some flexibility in hours would be helpful, especially during school holidays.)Salary GLPC – C point 4 - 5 (£26,016 - £26,427 pro-rata)This is a great opportunity for the right candidate. We have recently moved into a brand-new school building and are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated person to become part of our supportive, friendly and committed team to care about our school as much as we do. You will be working with our Site Manager to care for and maintain the school premises and grounds.We are looking for a candidate:• To be responsible for the security of the premises, including key-holding responsibilities at the end of the school day or, on occasion, in the morning.• To be available to attend the premises for emergencies outside the working week e.g. intruders, fire, floods, etc and to take appropriate action including informing the Site Manager and Head Teacher.• To clean designated areas in the establishment and maintain high standards in all areas, including floor surfaces in accordance with the requirements of the Authority’s cleaning and maintenance specification.• To carry out a range of cleaning duties, including sweeping, vacuum cleaning, floor polishing, dusting, mopping, maintaining sanitary items, etc.• To maintain and replace consumable items, such as soap, hand towels.• To ensure the exterior hard-surface, field and garden areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition within the school boundaries.• To undertake basic repairs around site including boarding up and making the building secure after acts of vandalism.• To assist with the cleaning of glass and windows as required.• To carry out porter’s duties as and when required by the establishment.• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of him/herself and of other persons who may be affected by his/her activities. Working hours will be 2.45 – 6.00 pm.
