Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly driven candidate to join our Highways Design and Regulation (Structures) team at Calderdale Council.

We are seeking to recruit an Engineering Team Manager to provide high level expert advice and management to the Highways team in support of all aspects of bridge and structural assets management. You will lead, direct and manage the team in ensuring statutory and corporate objectives are delivered and ensuring compliance with requirements as set out in Well-managed Highway Infrastructure: A Code of Practice (2016). You will be integral to ensuring the continued successful operation, maintenance and forward planning of the Councils bridges, retaining structures and other adopted structural assets.

You will need to be confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels including multi agency partners, Councillors (Parish, District and County), MPs, utility companies, public transport providers, senior managers as well as members of the public. Excellent communication skills are required to be able to communicate effectively with these stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
