Summary
Clinical Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical services to registered patients, including diagnosis, treatment, health promotion, and preventative care. Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and video consultations as appropriate. Manage acute and chronic medical conditions in line with current evidence-based guidelines. Prescribe medication safely and appropriately within national and local guidance. Refer patients to secondary care and other healthcare professionals when required. Review and action pathology results, hospital correspondence, and clinical documents. Maintain accurate, timely, and contemporaneous patient records. Quality and Safety Promote high standards of clinical care and patient safety. Work within GMC Good Medical Practice standards. Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and significant event reviews. Support safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults. Comply with infection prevention and control, health and safety, and information governance requirements. Report clinical incidents and participate in learning activities. Team Working Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Nurses, HCAs, AHPS, ARRS roles and Administrative Staff. Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues as appropriate. Contribute to practice meetings and service development activities. Foster positive working relationships across the practice and wider Primary Care Network. Professional Development Maintain professional registration and compliance with appraisal and revalidation requirements. Engage in continuing professional development (CPD). Keep up to date with national and local guidelines affecting primary care. Participate in mandatory and statutory training. Administrative Responsibilities Complete clinical correspondence, referrals, reports, and other documentation within an appropriate timeframe. Support achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and other contractual requirements. Contribute to effective use of practice systems and processes. Assist in maintaining accurate clinical coding and documentation.
