Summary

You will be working closely with Speech & Language Therapists and other Assistants to deliver speech and language interventions to children and families. As a member of the complex needs team, you will provide communication support for some of the service's most complex children, including children those who are non-speaking. The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist speech, language, and communication interventions to an individual caseload within the Complex Needs Team, under the supervision of an SLT, according to the individual needs of each child/young person and their families. You will work closely with families and other agencies to ascertain an effective multi-disciplinary approach to communication and dysphagia management and care. You will provide supervision and/or mentoring of newly qualified staff, Assistant Speech & Language Therapists and students as appropriate. You will undertake administrative duties related to your specific work. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
