Summary

Hazel Tree Education is recruiting on behalf of an Alternative Provision setting in Warrington for a full-time SEN Support Assistant to start ASAP.

This opportunity would suit individuals with experience in structured, high-pressure, or behaviour-focused environments who are looking to transfer their skills into education and support young people to succeed.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may require additional behavioural, emotional, and pastoral support. You will play a key role in building positive relationships, maintaining boundaries, promoting engagement, and helping students achieve positive outcomes.

This role is offered on a temp-to-perm basis. Successful applicants will initially work through Hazel Tree Education for 12 weeks, before moving onto a permanent contract directly with the school.

We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in:

Sports

Armed Forces / Military

Prison Service / Custodial environments

Police, Fire, Ambulance, or Emergency Services

Security or public safety roles

Youth work, mentoring, support work, or similar environments

We are looking for people who have:

Experience working in challenging, structured, or behaviour-led environments

Strong communication skills and confidence building positive relationships

Resilience, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure

A proactive and supportive approach to behaviour and engagement

An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

The ability to provide a minimum of two references
