Hays Education are working with a secondary school in Alresford to recruit a passionate Teacher of Food Technology. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful Design and Technology department where Food Technology plays a key role in developing students' practical skills, creativity, nutritional understanding, and confidence in the kitchen.The school is seeking an inspirational teacher who can bring Food Technology to life, creating engaging lessons that encourage students to develop essential skills while achieving excellent academic outcomes.The Role:As a Teacher of Food Technology, you will:
- Teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver engaging practical and theory lessons that inspire a love of food, nutrition, and healthy living.
- Develop students' culinary skills, food preparation techniques, and understanding of nutrition and food science.
- Create a positive learning environment where all students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
- Monitor and assess student progress, using data effectively to support attainment and achievement.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Food Technology schemes of work and curriculum resources.
- Support enrichment activities, open evenings, and wider departmental initiatives.
- Play an active role in the pastoral and academic development of students.
The Ideal Candidate:The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting up to GCSE Level.
- Strong practical food preparation and kitchen management skills.
- Excellent classroom management abilities.
- A passion for promoting healthy eating, nutrition, and food education.
- A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
