About the Role

Peartree Life Care is recruiting experienced Female Carers / Support Workers to join our trusted Children's Complex Care team.

This is an opportunity to provide high-quality, person-centred care to children and young people with complex medical and healthcare needs in their own homes and within the wider community.

We are looking for caring, reliable and motivated individuals who are confident working with children and able to follow individual care plans and clinical instructions.

This is a flexible opportunity with potential for ongoing placements and long-term work.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have:

• Experience working in care, healthcare or complex care.

• Experience supporting children or young people is desirable.

• Care Certificate completed or willingness to complete.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

• Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.

• Confidence in following care plans and clinical instructions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and record-keeping skills.

• A caring, patient and professional approach.

• Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and school holidays.

Experience in any of the following is advantageous:

• PEG / NG feeding.

• Tracheostomy care.

• Suctioning.

• Bowel care.

• CPAP / ventilation support.

• Medication administration.

• Insulin management.

• Complex moving and handling.

• Monitoring vital signs.

Your Role

Your duties may include:

• Providing safe and person-centred care to children with complex needs.

• Supporting children with personal care, hygiene, dressing and mobility.

• Supporting with feeding, including PEG/NG feeding where trained and required.

• Supporting with medication in accordance with the care plan and training.

• Supporting with respiratory care and complex medical equipment where trained.

• Monitoring the child's health and wellbeing and reporting any concerns.

• Supporting children to attend appointments and access the community.

• Providing emotional support and encouraging meaningful activities.

• Maintaining accurate care records and documentation.

• Working alongside parents, nurses, senior carers and other healthcare professionals.

• Following safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and company procedures.
