The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Commercial Director will sit on both the Board and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute a 3–5-year roadmap focused on market share growth and diversification.

Customer Leadership: Own strategic relationships with the retailers and discounters leading high-negotiations and pricing strategies.

Category Innovation: Partner cross-functionally to launch new SKUs and co-packed products that utilise existing operational headroom.

Operational Alignment: Work closely with Supply Chain heads to synchronise the products with volatile retail demand.

Team Development: Mentor a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Candidate Requirements

• Senior commercial leadership experience within fresh produce, chilled food, or short-life FMCG.

• In depth understanding of Supply chain functionality and relationship to commercial success.

• Proven success managing the "Big 4" retailers and Discounter accounts.

• Strong P&L ownership.

• Experience in business diversification or value-added product expansion is highly desirable.

• A relationship-builder who thrives in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.

• Collaborative approach bridging the gap between operations, and the end consumer.

• Capable of balancing short-term retail demands with long-term strategic investments (automation/efficiency).
