Maths Teaching Assistant – Graduate Pathway to Teacher Training

September 2026 Start | £100-115 per day (£550 Per Week | Secondary School | Full-Time / Term-Time

Are you a high-achieving Maths graduate considering a career in teaching?

This is an exciting opportunity to spend a year as a Maths Teaching Assistant within a successful secondary school, gaining valuable classroom experience and developing the skills needed to progress into Maths Teacher Training.

The academy is committed to supporting ambitious graduates who want to build a long-term career in education, after your 12 month placement, you would likely be enrolled into an Maths Teacher Training programme enabling you to become a fully qualified teacher within the next 12 months - this would be a fully funded qualification which would come along with a teacher training salary.

The Perfect Candidate

We are looking for an ambitious graduate with a genuine passion for Mathematics and a clear desire to become a teacher.

You must have:

• Strong desire to become a fully qualified Maths Teacher

• A First Class or 2:1 degree in Mathematics or a strong Maths-related subject

• Strong GCSE Mathematics results

• Strong A-Level Mathematics results

• Excellent communication skills

• The confidence and ability to work with young people

• A genuine ambition to progress into Maths Teacher Training

• The right to work full-time in the UK

• No sponsorship available
