About us and the role

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Premises Manager to support the delivery of a safe, well-maintained and welcoming environment at Avanti Fields School, Leicester.

Working closely with the Site Manager and colleagues across the school, you will play an important role in overseeing day-to-day premises operations, coordinating maintenance and supporting our premises and cleaning teams. You will also help ensure that the school meets the required health and safety and compliance standards, while supporting contractors and responding effectively to maintenance and operational needs.

With your practical approach, strong organisational skills and facilities management experience, you will help create an environment where pupils and staff can learn, work and thrive.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding role where your contribution will have a direct impact on the smooth and effective running of the school.

What will you do?

• Support the Site Manager in overseeing the day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness, safety and smooth operation of the school premises, ensuring the environment is safe and fit for learning.

• Coordinate and supervise Premises Officers, caretaking and cleaning teams and external contractors, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

• Carry out regular inspections and daily, weekly and monthly checks, identifying maintenance, repair and improvement requirements and supporting the delivery of planned maintenance schedules.

• Support the management of maintenance budgets, contractors, health and safety compliance and digital estates systems, ensuring resources are used effectively and records are maintained accurately.

• Work closely with the Site Manager, Principal, Business Support Manager and wider school community to respond to premises-related needs, emergencies and lettings requirements.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in a facilities management role.

• Experience managing a team, including cleaners and caretakers.

• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation.

• Understanding of Health and Safety and security issues.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
