Salary: BG8, SCP 12 £30,023 pa, pro rata £19,869

Contract Type: Part-time, 28 hours per week, fixed term contract until 31/08/2027

Hours: 4 days a week, 8.30am-4pm, term time only plus 4 Inset days

Reporting to: Headteacher

Start Date: ASAP About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated, flexible and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Sefton Park. Sefton Park Infant and Junior Schools are a federated setting with a strong sense of community and care. The Learning Support Assistant – Level 3 (SEND & Cover) will play an important role in helping children to thrive in school. The role will primarily involve supporting individual pupils, including those requiring 1:1 support, as well as working with groups to help children access learning, make progress and develop socially and emotionally.There will also be opportunities to provide short-term whole-class cover when a teacher is unexpectedly absent, using learning that has already been planned and with support from teaching staff and school leaders. This will be an occasional part of the role rather than its main focus.This is a varied role and a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and experience. It would particularly suit someone keen to build their confidence in leading learning and potentially take the next step in their career within education.Key Responsibilities:• Provide high-quality 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils to access learning and make good progress.

• Support pupils with additional needs, adapting approaches and resources to meet individual needs.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and support their social, emotional and behavioural development.

• Work closely with teachers and the SEND team to deliver agreed support, interventions and individual targets.

• Promote pupils’ independence, confidence and engagement in their learning.

• Provide short-term whole-class cover during unforeseen teacher absence when required, delivering learning that has already been planned.

• Maintain positive behaviour, established classroom routines and a safe, purposeful learning environment when working with individuals, groups or whole classes.
