Summary

Lead Pastoral Practitioner: Pastoral Support & InterventionStart date: as soon as possibleYsgol Treffynnon is situated on a modern learning campus, which it shares with a primary school, Ysgol Maes Y Felin. The design of the learning campus is beautiful, unique and innovative, possessing state-of-the-art multifunctional classrooms throughout.We are seeking to appoint a highly effective Lead Pastoral Practitioner to provide high quality pastoral support and intervention for students whose behaviour, attendance, wellbeing or personal circumstances present barriers to learning.This is a key pastoral role focused on securing consistency, strengthening intervention and ensuring that students are supported with care, clarity and high expectations.The successful candidate will have proven experience of working directly with secondary age students in a pastoral, inclusion, behaviour support, education or youth work setting. They will demonstrate the ability to support, challenge and motivate students, build strong relationships with families and colleagues, and contribute to improved behaviour, attendance, wellbeing, engagement and readiness to learn.This is not a post for someone who sees pastoral work as simply reactive. We are looking for a calm, resilient and organised practitioner who can respond to complex situations while maintaining consistency, professional boundaries and high expectations.The postholder will work as part of the pastoral team, under the direction of the Director of Learning for Pastoral, contributing to the consistent implementation of pastoral systems, intervention and student support.Ysgol Treffynnon is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.Candidates must complete our application form to be considered.
