Summary

The main chemotherapy unit plus our teenage/young adult area are based within the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. We also offer a community based service at two satellite centres in Bristol – one in South Bristol Community Hospital in Hengrove, and the other in Concord Medical Centre in Bradley Stoke. Staff will be expected to work between the main unit at BHOC and at least one of the satellite units.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and experienced candidate to join our team as a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse. We open 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday across all of our sites. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals receiving systemic anti-cancer treatments in a busy outpatient setting.

As a senior member of the nursing team you will be responsible for coordinating the day to day running of the unit, ensuring the safe delivery of SACT in line with national and local policies. You will act as a clinical role model, providing leadership, support and supervision to junior staff while promoting a culture of continuous learning, quality improvement and compassionate care. You will deliver complex patient care, manage unwell patients and treatment-related toxicities, provide patient education and support, and contribute to service expansion and development.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with post-registration experience in oncology/haematology or chemotherapy services, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding care. UK SACT competency and experience in mentoring or supervising staff are essential for this role.

If you are passionate about cancer nursing, enjoy working in a fast-paced and busy environment and are looking to develop your leadership skills within a supportive team, then we would love to hear from you.
