Summary

As an ANP, you will assess and manage patients presenting to the practice, including those with acute, undifferentiated and long-term conditions. You will be able to work autonomously within your scope of practice, using your advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, treat and refer patients appropriately. Your role will include: Assessing and triaging patients, including same-day presentations. Taking comprehensive histories and undertaking appropriate clinical examinations. Assessing and managing undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations. Diagnosing and treating a broad range of acute and chronic conditions. Prescribing safely within your scope of practice and in line with relevant national and local guidance. Recognising red flags and identifying patients who require escalation or onward referral. Completing episodes of care where appropriate, from initial assessment through to treatment, follow-up or referral. Working collaboratively with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team. Supporting personalised care and shared decision-making with patients. Contributing to clinical development, quality improvement and service development within the practice. Supporting the education, development and clinical supervision of colleagues where appropriate.
