The Leeds Emergency Medicine Departments offer 12-month Clinical Fellowships designed to provide individually tailored experience and training for those who want to develop a special interest in specific areas of Emergency Medicine Fellowship posts are available from December 2026 onwards. We have been running a very successful programme with non- clinical roles already in ultrasound, research and quality improvement, ambulatory care medicine, post-graduate and undergraduate education, simulation and emergency care with elderly medicine. We have over 50 consultants in the Emergency Department with a wide range of clinical, educational, and managerial interests. These include Dr Anin Dasgupta (Clinical Director UC) Dr Clare Thompson (Clinical Lead Paediatric Emergency Department) Dr Sundararaj Manou (Clinical Lead and Recruitment Lead) Dr Catherine Holmes (Specialty Tutor) Dr Andrew Davies (Emergency Medicine Head of School Yorkshire) Dr Sarah Higgins (TPD ST3 Emergency Medicine) Dr D Hammond- Jones (TPD HST Emergency Medicine) Dr Mohit Arora (TPD for Ultrasound) Dr Peter Cutting (Risk and Learning Lead) Dr Tajek Hassan (Past RCEM President) Dr Jonathan Jones (West Yorkshire Major Trauma Network Lead) Dr Najeeb Rahaman (Global EM interest) What you will bring to the role MBBS or equivalent medical qualification Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at intended start date Eligibility to work in the UK. Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent (as required to complete Foundation competences) by intended start date Is up to date and fit to practise safely and is aware of own training needs. All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues demonstrated by one of the following: That applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English; or academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) results showing a score of at least 7.5 in each domain (speaking, listening, reading, writing),with an overall score of at least 7.5, to be achieved in a single sitting and within 24 months of the time of application.
