Summary
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and skilled Specialist Midwife to join our dynamicMultidisciplinary Team (MDT). In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals with pre-existing or gestational diabetes. Working part-time within our busy Antenatal Clinic, you will act as a key point of contact, ensuring safe, coordinated, and person-centered care throughout the antenatal and preparation-for-birth pathway.
Band 6 experience within the UK is essential to this role.
• Clinical Excellence:Manage a caseload of pregnant individuals with Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes, providing specialized clinical assessment, education, and support.
• MDT Collaboration:Work seamlessly alongside Consultant Obstetricians, Diabetologists, Diabetes Specialist Nurses (DSNs), Dietitians, and sonographers to formulate and implement individualized care plans.
• Education & Support:Empower patients to manage their condition, offering guidance on blood glucose monitoring, insulin/metformin administration, lifestyle modifications, and signs of complications.
• Clinic Flow:Coordinate and run specialized joint diabetes antenatal clinics, ensuring efficient patient care and timely follow-ups.
• Advocacy & Safety:Act as a strong advocate for the patient, facilitating informed choice and birth planning, while remaining highly vigilant to maternal and fetal well-being.
