Facilities Manager (Hard Services) - GlasgowBetter Places, Thriving CommunitiesThe OpportunityMitie is seeking an experienced and driven Facilities Manager to lead the delivery of integrated facilities management services at a key client site in Glasgow.

This is a predominantly Hard Services-focused role, requiring a highly capable FM professional with extensive experience managing engineering teams, building services, statutory compliance and technical operations within a complex, demanding environment. Whilst oversight of Soft Services forms part of the role, the primary focus will be on ensuring the successful delivery of Hard FM services and maintaining exceptional standards of compliance, performance and client satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be an experienced people leader, comfortable managing engineers, contractors and multiple stakeholders while building strong relationships with a high-profile client.

Key Responsibilities

-Lead the delivery of all Hard FM services, including M&E maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, lifecycle planning and statutory compliance.

-Manage and develop a team of engineers, supervisors and specialist subcontractors, driving a culture of safety, accountability and high performance.

-Act as the primary point of contact for the client, developing strong relationships and ensuring service excellence at all times.

-Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

-Monitor and manage contractor performance, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved or exceeded.

-Oversee Soft FM services including cleaning, waste management, security and associated support services.

-Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

-Manage contract budgets, forecasts and financial performance.

-Produce operational reports, support audits and maintain effective governance processes.

-Lead the delivery of small works projects and contract improvement programmes.

About You

-Extensive experience within Facilities Management, with a strong and proven Hard Services background.

-Significant experience managing M&E services, compliance, maintenance programmes and technical operations within complex environments.

-Proven track record of leading and developing engineering teams, supervisors and specialist contractors.

-Experience working with demanding clients and navigating complex stakeholder environments.

-Strong understanding of statutory compliance, health & safety legislation and building services management.

-Experience overseeing Soft Services as part of an integrated FM contract, including cleaning, security and waste management.

-Excellent client relationship management skills with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels.

-Commercially astute, with experience managing budgets, contract performance, KPIs and SLAs.

-A proactive, solutions-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.

-IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.

-Relevant Facilities Management, Engineering or Technical qualification desirable.
