About the Role

We're looking for Operating Strategy & Ways of Working Manager to join the Optimisation & Integration (O&I) team within Everyday Banking.

This is a high-impact role at the heart of one of the UK's largest banking businesses. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll help shape key business priorities, influence decisions that impact millions of customers, and drive meaningful change across Everyday Banking. Whether it's improving organisational performance, designing future operating models, or helping teams work more effectively, you'll play a key role in how the business evolves and delivers for customers and colleagues.

As part of O&I's Performance & Insights community, you'll combine strategic thinking, business design, organisational effectiveness, and data-led insight to solve complex challenges and turn ideas into practical solutions. You'll work across high-profile initiatives spanning transformation, workforce planning, performance improvement, and business change, helping leaders make better decisions and ensuring the organisation is set up for long-term success.

This is an opportunity to work on some of Everyday Banking's most important priorities, partner with experienced colleagues across strategy, transformation, finance, workforce planning and performance management, and build expertise in a team with strong visibility and genuine scope for career growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and develop operating model solutions that support key business priorities and transformation programmes.

  • Partner with senior colleagues to understand challenges, identify opportunities, and shape practical solutions.

  • Use data, insight, and evidence-based recommendations to support decision-making and improve performance.

  • Assess organisational effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve productivity, collaboration, and delivery outcomes.

  • Define and embed ways of working that help teams deliver better results, faster.

  • Lead complex change initiatives and support the successful delivery of strategic programmes.

  • Shape workforce and capability strategies that support future business needs.

  • Influence planning and prioritisation through insight-led analysis and recommendations.

  • Coach and support colleagues to build capability and drive continuous improvement.

  • Help create a high-performing culture where teams can thrive and do their best work.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in strategy, business design, operating model design, organisational effectiveness, transformation, or consulting environments.

  • Strong understanding of organisational design principles and operating model frameworks.

  • Experience using data and insight to develop recommendations and influence decisions.

  • Proven ability to build credibility and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Experience leading complex change or business transformation initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to simplify complexity and translate strategy into action.

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience within Financial Services or Banking.

  • Experience working in Agile or modern delivery environments.

  • Knowledge of workforce planning, organisational design, or organisational performance approaches.

  • Experience providing insight and recommendations to senior or executive-level stakeholders.
