Summary
No two days in care are quite the same. You might:
• Help someone with washing, dressing, toileting or their morning routine, always with dignity and respect
• Prepare meals, snacks and drinks
• Offer companionship and friendly conversation
• Help with light housekeeping
• Support someone to get out and about, whether that’s an appointment, shopping or a trip to the seafront
• Support families during sensitive times, including end-of-life care
• Keep simple care notes and let the team know if you notice any changes
Sometimes you’ll be providing practical help. Sometimes you’ll simply be the person someone has been looking forward to seeing.
