Summary

Head of Legal Services (Hybrid) needed in Barnsley, £44.08ph PAYE (Negotiable) - Reference: 000B 5BC0 / 1

Working Pattern

Ideally 3-4 days per week, although full-time hours could be considered for the right candidate to provide additional resilience within the team.
Office attendance requirements:
- Full-time staff attend the office 3 days per week.
- Part-time staff would attend proportionately less, typically 1-2 days per week.

You will ideally have

Previous local government/council experience.
Significant experience working within legal services in a local authority setting.
Senior management experience with responsibility for leading and developing teams.
Some knowledge and understanding of Adult Social Care and Children's Social Care legal matters. Candidates are not expected to be specialists in every area but should have a broad legal background across local government services.

Team Management Responsibilities

The postholder will have responsibility for a number of direct reports covering:

Property
Procurement and Contracts
Litigation
Adult Social Care
Children's Social Care

Additional responsibilities include management oversight of:

Information Governance
Data Protection
SARs (Subject Access Requests)
Corporate Complaints

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
