Job Title: Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist

Location: East Sussex, UK

Rate: £100-£120 per hour. PAYE only

Details: Start date ASAP until 31/12/26 initially, but job is ongoing. Monday-Friday, full or part time considered. On Call, Weekends, Ward work, clinics Monday to Sunday - 8.30-5.30 weekends to cover gaps in service provision. Must be on specialist register

About the Role

As a locum Consultant in Gastroenterology, you'll play a key role in diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal conditions, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care. Responsibilities may include:

Performing endoscopic procedures (OGD, colonoscopy)

Managing inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services

Supporting junior doctors and MDTs

Contributing to service development and audits

What We're Looking For

Essential:

MBBS or equivalent medical degree

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise

Relevant NHS experience at Consultant level, or references to support your transition up to Consultant level

Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for agency locum work)

A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check - or a willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process

Strong communication and teamworking skills
