We are recruiting an experienced
Telehandler / Slinger to support safe lifting operations and material movement across the Sizewell project. This role combines telehandler operation with slinger/signaller duties to ensure loads are moved securely, efficiently, and in line with site safety regulations.
Role Overview
A Telehandler / Slinger is responsible for operating a telescopic handler and directing lifting operations on construction or industrial sites. You will work closely with lifting teams, crane operators, and site management to ensure all movements are carried out safely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a telescopic handler to lift, move, and place materials.
Transport loads safely and efficiently across the site.
Carry out pre‑use inspections and basic maintenance checks.
Ensure loads are secure, balanced, and within safe working limits.
Follow site lifting plans, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
Slinger / Signaller Duties
Attach and secure loads using chains, slings, shackles, and lifting accessories.
Direct crane or lifting machine operators using recognised hand and radio signals.
Assess load stability, weight, and suitability before lifting.
Communicate clearly with crane operators and site personnel.
Ensure all lifting operations comply with LOLER, PUWER, and site regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Valid Telehandler certification (CPCS or NPORS).
Valid Slinger/Signaller certification (CPCS or NPORS).
Previous experience in construction or industrial environments.
Knowledge of lifting regulations (LOLER, PUWER).
CSCS card.
Key Skills
Strong understanding of lifting operations and safety procedures.
Clear communication and teamwork abilities.
High attention to detail and situational awareness.
Ability to interpret lifting plans and risk assessments.
Calm, confident, and decisive under pressure.
