Children's Residential Registered Manager looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a home, lead a strong team and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people?

We are recruiting a

Registered Manager to lead a children's residential home in Nether Whitacre, Coleshill. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional who can provide strong leadership, drive high standards of care and safeguarding, and lead the home through the

Ofsted registration process.

The service provides personalised, therapeutic support to young people, including those with learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex behaviours.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful management and development of the home. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and taking ownership of the
  • Ofsted registration process.

  • Ensuring compliance with the
  • Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

  • Maintaining Ofsted inspection readiness and working towards achieving and sustaining a
  • Good or Outstanding rating.

  • Preparing for and responding to
  • Regulation 44 visits and implementing required actions.

  • Providing strong leadership, direction and support to the staff team.
  • Recruiting, inducting, supervising and developing staff.
  • Acting as the
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the home.

  • Ensuring robust safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed.
  • Overseeing care plans, placement plans and risk assessments.
  • Embedding
  • therapeutic, trauma-informed and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.

  • Promoting positive outcomes for young people across health, education, emotional wellbeing, independence and social development.
  • Building strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, schools, CAMHS, families and commissioners.
  • Leading quality assurance, audits and continuous service improvement.
  • Supporting referrals and maintaining strong occupancy levels.
  • Ensuring accurate records, policies and procedures are maintained.
  • Overseeing care management and rota systems.
  • Participating in the on-call rota as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent/commitment to complete within 12 months.

  • At least
  • 2 years' experience within children's residential care.

  • At least
  • 1 year's managerial experience as a Registered Manager.

  • Strong knowledge of
  • Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

  • Excellent safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
  • Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex behaviours.
  • Experience of therapeutic and/or trauma-informed care.
  • Strong leadership, communication and staff-development skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • A
  • full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

  • Flexibility to participate in the on-call rota.

Experience using

Nourish would be advantageous but is not essential.
